On Friday, January 26, 2024, Schijns Engineering attended the annual research afternoon 'Constructing with Wood', which was organized in the cinema hall of the Zwarte Doos at Eindhoven University of Technology.
The research afternoon was organized by Eindhoven University of Technology in collaboration with the Association of Timber Construction Engineers (VHC). Following the research afternoon, the VHC New Year's reception was held. Schijns Engineering was also invited to the research afternoon and was therefore present as a guest. The program started at 12:00 with a reception, after which presentations of graduation projects by TU Eindhoven students commenced at 12:30. After the presentations, there was time for questions from the audience. Due to the international character of the university, some of the presentations were in English. During one of the presentations, the new generation of Eurocode 5 was highlighted by Professor Ad Leijten. Future amendments to Eurocode 5 were discussed. The program was concluded by RTL weather presenter Reinier van den Berg with a presentation entitled 'Biobased construction for a healthier climate'.
