Project description
The project concerns a detached house in Barendrecht, equipped with wide slab floors.
In contrast to conventional, unidirectional floor systems, the floors are designed to transfer loads in two directions to the surrounding supports, resulting in a four-sided load-bearing effect (four-sided slab action). The structural behavior of the floor systems was analyzed using the finite element method (FEM) in RFEM 6.
The structural assignment encompassed the full engineering of the wide slab floors, from strength calculation and design to reinforcement detailing and the delivery of the production files.
